Welcome to Brackett's Sunburst Farm!
We raise a small, but well-managed breeding herd of ADGA-registered Oberhasli and Toggenburg dairy goats in southeast Wisconsin. We pride ourselves in breeding show-quality, strong dairy animals that also lead their respective breeds in milk production. Since our first registered animal in 2002, we have had several animals place on the ADGA Top 10 list for milk production, as well as place in the top ten at the annual ADGA National Show. Additionally, we have had multiple superior genetics does, permanent champions, and animals linear scoring over 90.
Genetic advancement and improvement upon previous generations is of utmost importance to our herd. We extensively use artificial insemination to maximize our access to the bucks leading the industry. We also actively participate in DHIR milk testing and Linear Appraisal to facilitate culling decisions to keep our herd competitive.
The health of our animals is of great importance to us. We test annually for Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis (CAE) virus, Johne's Disease, and Caseous Lymphadenitis (CL), and our herd has consistently tested negative. All kids are removed from their dam at birth to prevent the spread of disease.
Thank you for your interest in our goats!
